BIBLE STUDY

9:00 am – Habakkuk

Led by Tom Beckner

The Book of Habakkuk teaches that even when God seems silent or uses wicked means to punish injustice, believers must trust in His sovereignty and timing. It centers on the promise that “the righteous shall live by his faith” (2:4), moving from confusion over evil to finding joyful confidence in God’s ultimate justice and salvation.

10:00 am – Hebrews

Led by Paul Cook

The Old Testament is full of references to the Messiah, all of which pointed to Jesus. Although the Son of God did not come to earth until a specific point in history, He is pictured, referred to, or prophesied about in every book.

The book of Hebrews is a New Testament book that reflects back on these references and shows how Jesus completely fulfilled each reference. The book tells us that Christ Jesus is better than anything mere religion has to offer. All the pomp and circumstance of religion pales in comparison to the person, work, and ministry of Christ Jesus. It is the superiority of our Lord Jesus that is the central theme of this eloquently written letter.

Join us as we explore how Jesus is the perfect reflection of God and, as our Savior, has replaced the sacrificial system, making direct interaction with God possible.

MONDAY WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY

9:00 am

A Travelers Guide Through Suffering and Joy – Beginning March 30

How do I make sense of life in a broken world? What good is my suffering? Where is the joy? The book, A Traveler’s Guide through Suffering & Joy, will explore biblical answers to these and many other questions. Written by Fairway member Karen Thomas Olsen, this interactive study will help us to see God’s goodness marbled through our   sadness. We’ll uncover nine kinds of suffering, and with each we’ll discover various kinds of joy partnering with each sorrow. We’ll recognize joys that we previously did not see May this biblical framework equip us with spiritual resilience, courage, and joy, so that we’ll live more fully for Christ and others.

Tuesdays

TUESDAY WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY

9:00 am

Ephesians: Head Held High

Ephesians was written to remind us who we are. It’s about refamiliarizing ourselves with our identities in Christ so that we don’t have to live under the crushing weight of heartache and disappointment. In his letter to the church in Ephesus, Paul gives us beautiful insight into the Lord’s redemptive power.

TUESDAY WOMEN’S PRECEPTS STUDY

Titus

The Book of Titus, a three-chapter New Testament pastoral epistle written by Paul to his trusted companion, provides instructions on establishing healthy, orderly churches on the corrupt island of Crete. It emphasizes appointing godly leaders (elders), teaching sound doctrine, and encouraging good works to transform lives, contrasting with false teachers and immoral culture.

9:00 am – In and Out

12:30 am – Precept Upon Precept

The Precept Method is similar to an inductive Bible study method, but which adds additional tools to enable a deeper level of Biblical engagement. There are two levels of study: 1) Precept Upon Precept—an intense study of Ephesians that will require approximately 5 or more hours of study time each week; 2) In and Out—a less intense approach that will take 2-3 hours of weekly study outside class.

Class time session consists of a one-hour class discussion, followed by an hour-long video instruction by the Precept Upon Precept instructor.
