Congregational Care.

The Congregational Care ministry at Fairway is “members caring for members.” To learn more, please read below.

God has blessed Fairway Christian Church with significant membership growth over the last number of years. The Elders, Ministers and staff of Fairway Christian Church have been in constant prayer for church members and their needs. While scripture clearly calls for each of us to offer care to each other, our church understands its call to offer care as well. The compelling force for all Christians is found in scripture;

John 13:34-35

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Matthew 25: 37-40

37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, [a] you did it to me.’

With the blessing and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, our church has not only grown in membership but also in the most wonderful spirit of goodness. With our increased membership, it becomes even more important for all of us to care for our members individually and to communicate the needs of our members to our church. The Elders, Ministers and staff of Fairway Christian Church are very excited to offer a ministry of congregational care. We believe this ministry will supplement and support our own individual care for our family and friends by encouraging identification, communication and timely responses to the needs of our congregation.

The Congregational Care Ministry launched in November 2017. This ministry is designed to encourage our individual care and to strengthen our ability to communicate our member needs to our church.

We have established a “Care Center” with a staff member dedicated to receiving calls about the needs of our members. Once received, each call will be logged in and dispositioned to an appropriate ministry or to a Minister or Elder. By tracking and monitoring the needs and the types of needs being referred to the church, we will be able to identify and understand any gaps or unmet needs in our church. This ministry and the confidential information reported will serve as another way to communicate to our Prayer List.

The Care Center can be contacted by phone at 352-259-9306 or by Fairway Christian Church website under “Member Information”.
