Musical Website Banner
Music is a sacred and anointed gift from God, with power to strengthen our souls and heal our hearts. Jesus’ final interaction with his disciples before going to Gethsemane was to sing a hymn with them (Matthew 26:30 and Mark 14:26). Our corporate worship is intended not only to bring glory to God, but to usher us into His presence and give us a glimpse of heaven. We may not all be able to “sing a new song” or “play skillfully” (Psalm 33:3), but all of us can shout for joy!
The Bible tells us to “Sing unto one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God.” (Colossians 3:16) At Fairway, we provide a choice of musical styles in worship. We provide two contemporary services led by a worship team of a variety of instruments and singers (Saturdays at 6pm and Sundays at 9:00am) and we provide a traditional service with a choir, piano and organ at 10:30am Sundays.
Our Choir is open to all who can sing. One does not have to read music to belong. The choir practices during the non-summer months on Wednesdays from 4:00-5:30pm. In addition to singing on Sundays (except in the summer), the choir usually has special presentations at Christmas, Easter, and some special holidays.
Our Worship Team requires an audition and certain qualifications. We currently have two teams: one for Saturday night service and one for our Sunday Contemporary service.
If you have organ and/or piano skills, we would welcome your interest in accompanying our traditional worship music.
Also, if you have instrumental skills (keyboard, guitar, drums, etc.) appropriate for our contemporary worship team, we would like to know. For more information or scheduling an audition, please contact our Worship Minister, Michael Coppock at or 352-259-9305.
